Bursary Details
The Vhembe District Municipality is offering bursaries to students in various fields of study at accredited tertiary institutions within and outside the district. This initiative is aimed at students who face financial challenges but are determined to pursue higher education.

- Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mining, Mechanical, Chemical)
- Finance/Financial Accounting/B Com Accounting/Auditing

- Information Technology
Eligibility Requirements:
- South African citizenship: Applicants must be residents of the Vhembe District.
- For Matriculants: You should be in Grade 12, with good academic standing.
- For Tertiary Students: You must be currently enrolled in a tertiary institution and studying towards one of the listed qualifications.
- Financial Need: Preference will be given to disadvantaged students.
- Supporting Documents: All applications must be accompanied by the required supporting documents listed below.
Required Documents for Application:
Before applying, make sure you have the following documents:
- Certified Grade 12 June Results (for Grade 12 students).
- Certified Academic Records (for current tertiary students).
- Affidavit from Unemployed Parents (proof of financial need).
- Certified Copy of ID/Birth Certificate (of both the student and parents).
- Letter of Reference from the school principal (for Grade 12 students).
- Proof of Residence (from Headman, Civic, or SANCO).

- Only Vhembe District residents are allowed to apply for this bursary.
- If you don’t hear back within 3 months of the closing date (24 January 2025), please assume that your application was unsuccessful.
