This Graduate Internship Programme offers an excellent opportunity for young people (aged up to 34) to gain hands-on experience in a variety of fields within the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) over a period of 24 months. Here’s a breakdown of key details:
Programme Overview
- Duration: 24 months
- Stipend: R7,450.75 per month
- Target Group: Youth (up to 34 years), with a particular encouragement for women and people with disabilities
- Districts & Posts: Multiple positions available across the Western Cape (Head Office and Rural & Metro Districts)
- Fields: Includes Human Resource Management, Finance, Public Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, Taxation, Supply Chain, Internal Audit, and more.
Requirements
Applicants must have a 3-year Diploma or Degree (NQF 6 or 7) in relevant fields. Some positions also accept a 3 or 4-year degree (NQF 8) in Psychology or Social Work.
Duties
- Assist with office duties such as research, data entry, filing, and general office coordination.
- Provide general administrative support in the specific office.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
- Ability to process information and communicate effectively in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.
